Bretonside Beauty Clinic is committed to supporting the local community that has given us so much over the past few years. We are working with several South West based Charities as detailed below.

Friends and Families of Special Children

Friends and Families are a Devon based charity which was set up in 2002 by a group of parents who identified a gap in service provision for families with children who experience disabilities. Friends and Families provide support, guidance and activities for families with children who experience all forms of disabilities and additional needs. This support is to help families build up an extensive support network, that not only offers them emotional support but also practical support in any area they require, this includes accessing appropriate financial aid.

CHICKS is a national children’s charity that provides free respite breaks to disadvantaged children from all over the UK. They believe every child has the right to make positive childhood memories. A CHICKS break inspires new confidence and gives children the chance to have fun, enjoy new experiences and relax. More than anything, it gives them the chance to just be children. The children they help come from a variety of backgrounds. They might be living in poverty, be young carers, be victims of bullying or abuse, or have been bereaved. The one thing they have in common is that they could benefit from a week away from their circumstances.

Plymouth Foodbank

Plymouth Foodbank, managed by Plymouth Methodist Mission Circuit, aims to serve the community in the fight against poverty. The foodbank helps people who are in financial crisis by providing them with much needed food as well as a listening ear and useful advice. They believe no-one in the community should have to face going hungry which is why they provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to them in crisis. The Plymouth Foodbank is part of a nationwide network of foodbanks working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

Shelter helps millions of people each year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through our advice, support and legal services.  They also campaign to make sure that one day, no one will have to turn to them for help. They believe that everyone should have an affordable, safe and secure place to call their home. Until they do, they will continue to campaign on the root causes of homelessness, to bring about long lasting change.
